ELLIS -COOPER--I have information about my grand mother's family the ELLIS-COOPER Famalies. I know the following; James C ELLIS was born in ALABAMA, where I am not sure but he meet and married Elizabeth COOPER on October 28, 1856 in Tuscaloosa County Alabama this is in the Marriages records of 1821-1860. They moved to Oxford, Mississippi (Lafayette County). I am not sure of the year that they moved. They had 4 children in Mississippi. James C. Ellis and Elizabeth COOPER are my g-great grandfather and mother. James C. ELLIS Born-About 1847-in Alabama occupation-farmer. Elizabeth COOPER -born about 1844 in Alabama- Occupation Housewife. I am doing a research paper on the Ellis Family and since I have found out who my g-grandparent are I have more information to add. I'm still looking for more information I would like to be able to go as far back as I can. I will list the children that was born in Mississippi My grandmother was Georgia C. Ellis born about December 23/24 1865, James Monroe ELLIS born about 1872, Mary Elizabeth ELLIS born- January 18, 1877, and John T. ELLIS - Born- date unknown - no other information.
