Daniel's parents were Daniel C RAWLS and Martha STRICKLAND married 1855 Lauderdale Co. Ms.Family tradition says this family lived in Al. WAshington Co. area but haven't found them here. 1910 census gives Al. as birthplace of Daniel married to Jane Eliz. and Alabama as place of residence when the oldest 2 of their 12 children were born.Several of the children had unusual names: Ozona, Prince D'Jalma,Helen Ehrin. There is a James REEVES on the Lauderdale Co. 1830 and 1840 census who may be James Washington's father. James and Ann's first six children were born in AL: Peter D.; Margaret E.; Missouri A. C.; Julia A., Louisa F.; and Martha M. The family next appears on the 1850 and forward census for Cherokee/Rusk Co.
