Waldrop/Watson--Looking for inforation on the faily of George WALDROP, born 1786, who married Rhoda BROOKS. She was born in 1797. They had the following children: William M., born 1816, married Sarah Ann WATSON, Thomas, born 1821. No more inforation on these families. George and Rhoda probably died in Alabama, Son William M. migrated to Texas after he married Sarah Ann WATSON, where he died. Thomas lved n Cullman Co, Ala and marred Catherine FAUBUS. It is believed he (Thomas) is buried in Cullman Co, Ala. May be related to Ruebin WALDROP also... Waldrop--I am looking for Princess Waldrop, born 1888 in Kentucky. She was adopted by Sarah Ann Baxter Waldrop who lived in Vinegar Bend, Alabama, Washington County. The 1900 Census Princess was off at school. She had two adopted brothers James Harry and Joseph Ryan Waldrop. Her adopted mother was the widow of Dr. Joseph R. Waldrop. WALKER--I am looking for information on my great grandfather John Thomas WALKER. After the death of his first wife Sarah Elizabeth PRICHARD died in 1877, Tom left his children in SC and went somewhere in the Sand Mountain area of Alabama. I can't seem to find anything about him after he left SC. He supposedly remarried and had at least 2 other children but can not find this information. Weatherford--There was a family tree done when I was 6 that said I was related to William (Red Eagle) Weatherford. O.K. I know my gg grandpa's name was I.Frank he was born in 1877 or so and a native of AR. It appears his dad was William J. (the J. I believe was for James as best as my grandma can remember). There was a W.J. Weatherford in Wilcox County in 1860 for the election for presiddent and I know he had been there 2 years previously by a land deed I found. Other than that I can not find anythig and we have no clue who would have the tree so I have to do the work myself and I am spending a lot of time on it. Anyway, I know that Red Eagle's 3rd wife was buried in Monroe Co. I know that Monroe and Wilcox are neighbors so I feel closer. I was wondering if there is anyway anyone can tell me what William's dad's name was. I believe William's dad very well may have been Red Eagle's grandson and I have the names of those. Thank you. WEED--I am searching for the parents and grandparents of Daniel Obediah Weed(my ggrandfather)b 1847 in Talladega Co. Al. His parents were Andrew Weed b 1817 and Lucinda ?? b 1815 both in SC. I had thought that Andrews parents were John and Rebekah Weed also of SC but I am unable to prove this. I beleive that I am descended from the Reuben Weed that came from Ct with his bros, John and Nathaniel Weed to settle in SC. Andrew Weed left SC and traveled through Ga and Al to settle in MS. The oldest three siblings of Daniel, Rebecca, Emaline and John T. S. were born in Ga while Daniel and Catherine were born in Al, and Rebecca and Emaline were married in Al. WHITE--I have a pamphlet for Senator Frank S. White who was a candidate for the U S Senate before the Democratic Primary on May 11 (no year printed). It was published by Frank S. White, Birmingham, Ala. On the last page he says "I am seeking to fill the place in the Senate made vacant by the death of gallant Confederate soldier, Senator John Bankhead, the last one in the Senate. As a boy, I served in the Confederate Army with the dauntless "Wizard of the Saddle", General Bedford Forrest, and if elected, I will be the last Confederate soldier that can serve in that body." Willis--My great grandfather was William Floyd WILLIS, nickname was "Max", b. 2/11/1861 in Butler Co. He married Elizabeth Hezekiah Graydon (possibly called "Betty"). They had 7 children, 5boys 2 girls, all born in Butler Co. My grandfather was Don Carlos Willis, b. 10/23/1888. Brothers - Floyd, b. 1/31/1886, William Foster, b. 5/15/1891, John Shelton, b. 2/17/1894, Freddie Eldon, b. 2/11/1896. Sisters - Maude, b. 10/13/1881, Bertha, b. 12/26/1883. From a newspaper clipping about his mother's death, the family moved to Coldwater Community, Santa Rosa Co. FL around 1904. (a copy of a Correspondence referencing the Advocate about an article, tells about an incident in Indian Creek, Butler Co., AL on July 12, 1881. Tommie Graydon died in a fatal accident at his uncle William (W.J.) Norsworthy's house. It mentioned his burial at the Fort Dale graveyard. Another article is the copy of an obit about Miss Emma Willis, who died 12/7/1889. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. She was born 12/28/1868. The article was written by J.A. Wood, Woods--I am searching for the father of Stephen Wood, Woods, b. c1832, AL. I est. they went to MS from AL abt. 1833, since Stephen was born in AL and all other children were born in MS. He is on the 1850 Choctaw Co. MS census, as 1st child, with his mother, Elizabeth ?? as head of household. I am assuming his father was deceased. His siblings are Jeremiah, c1834, James M., c1836, Philip, c1838, Mary, c1839, Joseph, c1841, Wiley, c1845, Henry, c1858. There is a Furnifold Wood & family next door on this census, and I have info. that he was orig. from Henry Co. AL. I know Furnifold is conn. to our Woods fam. somehow, for his son, Fenny Fold named 2 of his sons, Joseph & Lee Wood. Stephen also named 2 of his sons, Joseph & Lee, and Joseph Woods is our conn. There is a Aaron, John & Henry Wood on the 1840 Choctaw Co. MS census, Aaron is old enough to be the father of John & Henry. Stephen named his 1st child, Henry, aft. marr. an Achlen ??. There is a Henry Wood & Eliz. Carroll marr., Oct. 11,1823, in Wilcox Co. AL. Does anyone recognize any of these names and have info. on them. There are bits and pieces of info. and I am trying to tie them together to find my husb.'s g.g.g.gr.father, who would be the father of Stephen. He married Sarah Pridmore in 1871 and had one child, Ruebin Hollis Wright. Sarah Died in 1872. Elias Wright then married Sarah's aunt, Marinda Storey and had 2 sons, Joseph Frank (my grandfather) and Luther Edward Wright. Elias owned property and paid taxes in Pickens County, AL in 1879.
