Checking Lisa Franklins site I see that AMASON, Joseph Silas was buried in Valley Grove Cemetary with the name spelling of AMERSON, J.S.. ARMISTEAD--I am interested in tracing my family back to William "The Emigrant" ARMISTEAD who came to the U.S. in 1634. I do have some info on him but have been unable to go back any further than my great, great, great grandfather --Captain William ARMISTEAD who was in the Revolutionary War and is burried in Clarke County where I was born and raised. I am also trying to trace my family back to General Lewis Armistead of the Civil War and Major George Armistead of Fort McHenry fame. AVANT, Frances of Dallas County Alabama. By October 1828 he is deceased leaving (5) children as minor heirs (1) Mary AVANT (2) Ann AVANT (3) Lucy AVANT (4) Nathan AVANT and (5) John C. AVANT. The first guardian appointed was a James M. Morris in Oct. 1828 and then a John G. O'Neal in Dec 1835. At the time in Oct 1828 the mother was still living but her name is not known. I am looking for death date, probate records or cemetery inscriptions for Frances AVANT. I am looking for his marraige record with estimated date of marrige possibly ca. 1810-1812.
