Her maiden name was STRONG, and she had been married to a man named HILL. She had three children by the previous marriage, (1) unknown (2) unknown (3) SARA ANN. BRANDON / WRIGHT--I am searching for descendants of Carter BRANDON, b. ca 1785-88 in VA. He was in Knox and Blount Cos. TN in the early 1800's. After service in the War of 1812, he moved to Jackson Co., AL, where he lived the rest of his life. He married Mary WRIGHT on 12 July 1821 in Laurence Co. AL. He died 2 June 1861 in Jackson Co. BRANTON--My grandmothers name was Leona (BARRENTINE) Branton. She was born March 8th, 1912. I don't know when she married my Grandfather but his name was Howard Cue Branton born December 31, 1907. They were suppose to be from the same area in Alabama. They both Died in Chipley, Florida. My Great Grandmother's name was Leola BROWN at her death. This was her 3rd marriage. Her maiden name was RALEY, I am not sure of the spelling for this. Her first marriage was to my Grandmother's father John Wesley Barrentine ( he went by the name Wesley) my Grandmother Leona was the only child of this marriage. My Great Grandmother's second marriage was to George JARVIS, they had 3 children David (Jarvis), Edna (Jarvis) Prevatt, and Lola B. (Jarvis) ANDERSON. I am not sure of her 3rd husbands first name (Mr. Brown). Anyway I found out several things My Great Grandfather (John Wesley Barrentine), had 5 children other than my Grandmother. They were Roy Barrentine ( Graceville, FL), James Barrentine (?. Texas), Ethel (Barrentine) ENFINGER (unknown location) Elma (Barrentine) (unknown married name or location), and Thelma (Barrentine) (unknown married name or location). BROCK: David BROCK b. in TN abt. 1789 lived in the part of Washington County that is now Choctaw County. He was married to Elizabeth LOWERY, most likely from SC, who died there abt. 1838 near Nicholson's P. O. He married Nancy (possibly Nancy Ann) Moore Aug. 20, 1845. It is believed that he and Elizabeth had children: (1)Andrew Brock, (2)Jas.T. Brock, and (3)Elizabeth E. Rrock. David is buried in Providence Cemetery, Choctaw County, AL. Nancy was widow of John F. BRYAN, JAY - I am trying to find the parents of James Elbert BRYAN and Charity JAY. James was born ca 1821 GA, and died 1857 in LA. He married Charity Jay, b. 1818, d.1857, in Lowndes 1835 and had a number of children, one my ggrandfather Nicholas BRYAN, b.1846 AL, d. 1934 TX. I suspect James's father was Waid (or Wade) Anderson Bryan, b. abt 1792 in SC or a Nicholas Bryan, shown in the 1830 Lowndes Co. census living next to Wade. Nicholas seems to have died in Lowndes or Butler Co. abt 1830/40. Waid and a lot of other Bryan's moved into the Lowndes Co. AL area in the 1820's and 30's and bought land there. Initially they were in an area about two miles north of Hayneville, then were in an area just south of the Lowndes/Butler co. line. BRYANT--Henry BRYANT: Looking for ancestors & siblings. Henry b. Dec 10, 1840 Ala. d. between 1887 and July 1880 probably Ms. Two sisters I know of: Della BRYANT and Tina (Tenia) BRYANT. Henry married Maranda ROGERS abt 1860. ( Supposedly she is part Indian-probably Cherokee). Maranda ROGERS was born Mar. 9, 1848. They are listed in Kemper Co, Ms in the 1870 census, and Maranda is listed as a widow in Tallahatchie Co, Ms. in 1880. BRYANT--I am searching for the parents of my great-great grandfather James William BRYANT. He was born in Georgia near the Alabama and Tennessee borders. His parents died when he was young and he went to live first with an aunt and later with his grandparents. I do not know if he had any siblings. Around 1870 he married Ellen Maybell COPELAND in DeKalb County, Alabama. Their first two children Margaret "Lou" and Evelyn "Ev" were born in DeKalb Co. They moved to Mississippi sometime between 1875 and 1879 first living in Union County, then Tippah County, and finally Prentiss County where James died in the community of Wheeler on 22 Feb. 1919. BYRAM-- Searching for father of Silas C. BYRAM b. 27 Aug 1841 Jackson Co., AL; m. 08 Oct 1865 Jefferson Co., AL; d. 24 Feb 1906 Jackson Co., AL. He married Mary Frances GERON. Silas had a brother named Maulden who married Mary Frances GERON's sister. I believe that either Ebenezar or Alden BYRAM was his father but can't make a connection. Ebenezar BYRAM III? or IV? always seemed to migrate with the GERON's and befriended one of the widows once. Alden BYRAM owned land in Jackson Co., AL. I have an Ancestral file from LDH on an Ebenezar BYRAM b. 1 Oct. 1692 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Mass. BYRD - am trying to discover the maiden name of my gg-grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth BYRD (b. ~1830) who married William Carrol BYRD (b.~1816 Stewart Co. TN) sometime ~1845ish since their oldest son Alfred M. BYRD was 3 years old in the 1850 census. Have not found their marriage record in Tennessee, Missouri, or Kentucky.
