YOCUM. Have some information and looking for more on Melinda Ann YOCUM, B.12-20-1848 in Franklin, AL. Her father was Washington YOCUM B. abt 1819 in Franklin, Al. His parents were (F) Jesse YOCUM b. 1781 in Ky (died aft. 1860 in Franklin, Al) (M) Jenny (Jane) MULLINS b. 1786 in Ky. Her mother was Matidla ALLEN B. abt 1825 in Al. whos father was L. ALLEN b. abt 1794 in SC. He married in Alabama but wife unknown. He Died abt 1894. Melinda Ann YOCUM married Ransom Cass HOLLAND on 7-28-1872 in Mountian Home, AR. YOUNG - Pernesia YOUNG is listed as being born in Ala. I do not have her parents or anything else about her. I have found a marriage in Maury Co., Tn. of a Pernesia GEORGE and Richard YOUNG July 26, 1821 which tallies with her DOB, but I need to know if these are her parents. Thanks. jfrench@dnet.net

YOUNG, LINTON, DIXON - Jacob Baker YOUNG(21 Jul 1846, Marion County, IN - 13 Apr 1905, Hanceville, Cullman County, AL) was a Union soldier who returned to Alabama after the Civil War and married on 1 Dec 1873 Virginia LINTON(13 Feb 1858 - 13 Aug 1892) of Warrior, Jefferson County, AL. Three children, all born in Warrior: Walter Baker(10 Sep 1875 - 11 Apr 1922); Daisey Lee(11 Jul 1879 - 14 Mar 1937); and my maternal grandmother, Minnie Gertrude(27 Sep 1884 - 8 Jan 1954). Walter Baker YOUNG was a highly respected physician in Warrior from 1901 until he committed suicide by gunshot in 1922. Jacob Baker YOUNG was a sawyer by trade. Any information about any member of this LINTON/YOUNG family of Warrior, AL, would be greatly appreciated, especially the locations of the grave sites in Warrior of Jacob Baker YOUNG, Virginia (LINTON) YOUNG and Walter Baker YOUNG. Jacob Baker YOUNG married his second wife, Emma S. DIXON(b. May 1878, NC) in Birmingham, AL, on 9 Dec 1897. There was a child, Clyde(b. March 1897), and the family home was in Warrior. I have no information at all on what happened to Emma (DIXON) YOUNG and/or Clyde DIXON YOUNG after the death in 1905 of Jacob Baker YOUNG. I also know nothing about the forbears of Emma S. DIXON.
