EASLEY -- I am researching my grandmother EASLEY's father whose name was John WAGONER and I have found him on the census as WAGGONER, WAGNER, and WAGONER. He was reported to have been born in Alabama. That is what the census reported. I do not know for sure. Everything that I find him listed on says he was born in Alabama. He was married and had children before my grandmother was born but his wife died having my grandmother, I do not know her name, can not find a death record in Van Zandt County, Texas where they were living when my grandmother was born. My grandmothers name was Martha (Mattie) Josephine WAGONER, she married James Melvin EASLEY in Van Zandt County, Texas but they moved to Palestine, Anderson County, Texas around 1887/89. It is John WAGONER and his first wife that I would like to have information on, but will not turn any information concerning WAGNOR, WEAVER, RICKS, or EASLEY. Jonathan WEAVER and his wife also from Alabama raised my grandmother. They may have been related to John WAGONER. On one census there were 2 children named RICKS living with John WAGONER and his second wife in Cherokee County, Texas and their place of birth is listed as Alabama and the story goes that they may have been related to John. ELMORE --Need information on the following: John ELMORE who settled in S.C. & later moved to Alabama, along with his brother Thomas, who is said to have become Govenor. F.H. ELMORE & another brother were said to have been members of Congress in Alabama. These 4 brothers had one "known" sister Martha ELMORE (ca. 1766? S.C.? - 1797 VA.) It is possible that Martha ELMORE married 1st to Mr. HUDSON, her 2nd marriage was on 20 Nov. 1783 Bedford Co., VA. to George SCOTT. ENGLISH/PIPPIN(S)--I am searching for info on my grandfather Perry Alphis ENGLISH. He was married to Ruby Jean PIPPIN. My father says her name is PIPPINS but I found her parents in the 1920 census of Barbour County and it was spelled PIPPIN. My grandfather was born and raised in Barbour County.
