The state of Chihuahua is located in the
north western part of Mexico, bounded on the north by the
states of New Mexico and Texas in the United States, on
the east by the state of Coahuila, on the south by the
state of Durango, and on the west by the states of Sonora
and Sinaloa.

numbers for primary documents, such as civil and church
registers from a place in Mexico, choose Place Search,
and enter the name of the place when the form loads. This
part of the catalog is mostly in Spanish. It is very easy
to interpret, so you don't need to know Spanish. You may
order the microfilms at the local Family History Center
for a very small fee amounting to the shipping cost from
and to the Family History Library in Salt Lake The
microfilms local stay at the center where there are
microfilm readers for you to use.

author's immediate family are bilingual. The author can
understand and read Spanish fairly well, though he has
difficulty speaking and writing the language. Once fluent
in Latin and Koine Greek or New Testament Greek, most of
those skills have diminished over a thirty year period.
