Year Book of the
Holland Society of New York Domine Selyns' Records The 1916 Year Book of the Holland Society of New York contains a transcription of the manuscript pastoral book of Domine Henricus Selyns, the first minister of New Amsterdam. The original volume, three by five by one inches in dimension, is in the possession of the society. The book contains a register of the 566 persons who were members of the Reformed Dutch Church, arranged according to the streets of the city. Selyns prepared the diary to direct him in his family visitations. A map of the city of 1695, showing the pastoral route of the Domine in 1686, has been added. Other information useful to the genealogist is included. |
