"John Hagaman, branch of the Hagaman family. First progenator of whom we have any authentic record. We have no record of his birth, but know that he died in Carroll County, Ohio, about 1847 or 1848. John Hagaman, born about 1777, Married- about 1798. Mary De Groff, probably of Pennsylvania. Their children: Michael Hagaman, born about 1800. George Hagaman, born Sept. 1, 1802, died Aug. 28, 1870; John Hagaman, born Aug. 30, 1805, died, Jan. 17, 1892; Jackson Hagaman-no record except signature to deed; Jesse Hagaman, no record of borth or death; James Hagaman, born Feb. 27, 1813, died March 7, 1870; David Hagaman, no record except signature to deed; Elizabeth, no record except her marriage to Nathaniel Fields; Amos Hagaman, born April 5, 1820, died Jan. 6, 1854.
Since the first edition of History of the John Hagaman Branch was published, we have found record of a sale of property made by John and Mary Hagaman, in Fayette Co., Pa., the deed having been made in 1827. They had purchased the same in 1819. Their next move was probably to Carroll County, Ohio, where the remainder of their lives were spent."22, page 4:
