29 Mar 1834: Horace C. Stevens states that Frances Cleer an d her sister Lucy Cleer lived with their mother, Mrs. Woolf olk.
22 Jun 1833 - Frances Cleer states that her husband Rober t P. Cleer died some years ago and that she has lived apar t from the world since then. Further she states that she r aised to manhood Hugh M. Chandler, the son of her decease d sister and that Hugh M. Chandler left her to go and liv e with William W. Dickinson in the capacity of a clerk. Fr ances Cleer declares that Hugh M. Chandler tricked her int o signing a paper that he knew she could not read and the n proceeded to have her slave taken from her.
