Know all Men by these Presents, That we John Woolfolk and Robert Wiglesworth are held and firmly bound unto Pascal Hackett & Maria his
wife in the just and full
sum of One Hundred
Eighty three dollars and seventy four cents to be paid unto the said Pascal Hackett and Marie his Wife their certain Attorney, their Heirs, Executors, Administrators or
Assigns: To which payment, well and
truly to be made, we bind ourselves, jointly and severally, and each of our
joint and several Heirs, Executors and administrators, firmly by these
presents. Sealed with our Seals, and
dated this 1st day of March 1824.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such –
That whereas Pascal Hackett and Maria his
wife hath sued out of the Superior court of Chancery for the Fredericksburg District a writ of Fieri Facias against the Goods
and Chattels of the above bound John
Woolfolk.
Upon a decree
obtained in the said court; which writ with the legal costs attending the same,
amounts to the sum of Ninety
One Dollars & Eighty Seven cents
And directed to
the Marshal of the Superior Court of Chancery for the Fredericksburg
District and whereas, Thomas Chew deputy for John Stanard, Marshal of the said Superior Court of Chancery
by virtue of the said writ hath taken the following property, belonging to the
said John Woolfolk to satisfy the same, to wit: Two Horses & one gig {?}
And the said John Woolfolk being desirous of keeping the same in
his possession until the day of sale thereof, hath tendered the above bound Robert Wiglesworth as security for the forthcoming and
delivery thereof on the day, and at the place of sale. Now if the above bound John Woolfolk and Robert Wiglesworth
or either of them, do and shall deliver the aforesaid property to the said Marshal or either of his deputies, at Spotsylvania Court house on the 5th
day of April next then and there to be sold, to satisfy
the said decree; then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full
force and virtue.
