GEORGE the second TO ALL WHEREAS WE HAVE given…….do give grant and confirm unto Joseph Woolfoke of King William County. One certain tract of land..containing 1,000 acres lying on the North side of the Northanna in Saint Georges parish in the County of Spotsylvania bounded as follows…Beginng (sic) at 2 hiccorys (sic) & a red oak in the low ground on the north side of the Northanna thence northeast 126 poles to two white oaks and a red oak on the southwest side of a branch on the flat ground thence northwest 360 poles to a red oak on the side of a hill on the northeast side of Beaverdam then south 40 [degrees] west 550 poles to three birch on the north side of Northanna to the beginning (sic)………..28 Sept 1728                                     William Gooch
