In the name of God Amen! I Mildred C. Woolfolk being of a sound mind and disposing memory but weak as to bodily health do make this my last will and testament viz:

1st: Out of the proceeds of the sale I do will and give unto my granddaughter America Hardgrove and Elizabeth Lou Woolfolk each the sum of seventy five dollars to buy them each of them a bed and furniture.

2nd: I do give out of the proceeds of the sale above named I do direct will and give unto my grandson Gilbreath Neill Woolfolk the sum of one hundred dollars to be applied to purchasing for him a saddle horse when he shall have attained the age of 21 years.

3rd: I do will that the balance of the proceeds of the sale aforesaid be divided into four equal parts and distributed as follows viz:

  One fourth to be given unto the children of my son Vivian B. Woolfolk  viz: Virginia Ann Askew, Julian R. Woolfolk, Maria Louisa Askew, Martha A. Henderson, Mary Ellen Woolfolk, John G. Woolfolk and Artilia A. Woolfolk to be divided equally among them,

  And one fourth to be given unto my daughter Cornelia Carpenter for her sole and separate use and benefit and not to be subject to the control of her husband nor liable for his debts.

  And one fourth I do give to my granddaughters America Hardgrove and Cornelia Malvina Hardgrove to be divided as follows viz:

  Three fourths of the said one fourth I do give unto my granddaughter America Hardgrove, and the one fourth of the said one fourth I do give unto my granddaughter the said Cornelia Malvina Hardgrove,

  And one fourth of the entire proceeds of the said sale I do give unto my grandchildren Mildred Ann Woolfolk, Julietta Woolfolk, Lee Woolfolk, Almira G. Woolfolk, James G. Woolfolk, Elizabeth Lou Woolfolk, G. Neill Woolfolk, and Florence Woolfolk to be divided equally between them.

Given under my hand and seal this the 18th day of Oct 1866.

I do hereby appoint my son John R. Woolfolk my Executor and direct that he discharge the duties of the same without giving bond or security.
