Clerk’s Margin note:  Woolfolk Senr to Woolfolk Junr. Original delivered to Thomas Woolfolk Jr  29 Sept 1804

 

This deed indented made and entered into this 26th day of October in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety five between Thomas Woolfolk senr of the county of Orange of the one part and Thomas Woolfolk junr his son of the county aforsaid the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Thomas Woolfolk senr for and in the consideration of the natural love and affection which he bears to his son Thomas Woolfolk junr but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Woolfolk junr the receipt whereof  he the said Thomas Woolfolk Senr doth hereby acknowledge and confess have given granted bargained enfeffed and sold to the said Thomas Woolfolk junr a certain tract or parcel of Land containing by estimation five hundred acres be the same more or less situate lying and being in the said county of Orange on the north fork of the South Anna river adjoining the Lands of Joseph Woolfolk, Isaac Graves, Abraham Padget and Thomas Layne [or?Payne] being the land given to the said Thomas Woolfolk senr by his Father Joseph Woolfolk dec’d and sd Thomas Woolfolk Senr doth likewise for the above consideration give and sell to the said Thomas Woolfolk junr the mill which is on the said north fork of the south anna river which adjoins the sd Land together of whith all the appuretences thereunto apportaining or that is usefull to said Mill and that now belongs to the same and the said Thomas Woolfolk senr for himself and his heirs the said land and mill of with there and each of their appurtenances to the said Thomas Woolfolk junr will by these presents Warrant and defend to the said Thomas Woolfolk and his heir forever free from the --- hinderance or molestation of any person or persns whatsoever.

 

In testimony whereof the said Thomas Woolfolk senr hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.

At a court held for Orange county on Monday the 28thday of October 1795.  This Indenture from Thomas Woolfolk senr to Thomas Woolfolk Junr was acknowledged by the said Thomas Woolfolk sennr and ordered to be recorded
