[1] - Despite the reporting spelling of Shamkel, this is belived to be Jacob Shankle.
[2] - Despite the reporting spelling of Balentine Shankel, this is belived to be Valentine Shankle. The census information could represent Valentine and his wife Susanah, and one their eldest son, possibly Eli or Levi (both of whom are listed as being born in 1789).
[3] - Despite the reporting spelling of Shankel, this is belived to be George Shankle, Jr.. The census information could represent George and his wife Oney Pennington, and their eldest son Levi, born 1788.
[4] - This is John Shankle. The census information could represent John and 3 of his sons. Eli, born 1784 is one son, with Wiley, John and Thomas being possiblities for the other two. The four females coud be John's wife, Betsey and 3 unknown daughters.
