It is likely that these individuals were, in addition to Polly, her son, John Yelton, her daughters, Drucilla Yelton, Rebecca Yelton and Catharine Yelton. Polly and her children are shown very near the households of the father and brother of her late husband.3

Hodge Raburn Garland died on 30 January 1863 in Jacksboro, Tennessee.2,3 He was buried in Byrd Cemetery, Forbes, Mitchell County, North Carolina.2 Hodge Raburn Garland apparently did not leave a will. However, in 1875 his heirs filed suit regarding some land at the top of Pumpkin Patch Mountain. Papers connected with the lawsuit state that H. R. Garland died in January of 1863 and that his heirs at law are Axie M. Peterson, wife of W. A. Peterson, Lydia Yelton, wife of John Yelton, Nancy Bird, wife of George Bird, Susannah Parker, wife of Martin Parker, Sarah Street, wife of Charles Street, and C. W. Garland.4

The household consisted of 1 male 26-44, 1 female 26-44, 1 female 10-15, and 1 male under 10. It is likely that these individuals were, in addition to John, his wife, Polly Deck, his son, James Yelton. The female between 10 and 15 is as yet unindentified.6 John survived the death of his wife, Polly Deck circa 1826.7

It is likely that these individuals were, in addition to John, his wife, Faraby Constant, his sons, Jacob Yelton, Leonard Yelton, Henry Yelton, John Yelton and Charles Yelton, his daughters, Mary Yelton and Sarah Ann Yelton. There is an "extra" female 20-30 in the household. She may be Mary Canup, wife of James Yelton. Although they were married in 1827, I haven't found them as a separate household in the 1830 Census.8 John Yelton appeared as the head of a household in the 1840 Census of Rutherford County, North Carolina. The household consisted of 1 male 50-60, 1 female 30-40, 2 males 15-20, 1 female 10-15, 1 male 5-10, 2 females under 5, and 1 male under 5. It is likely that these individuals were, in addition to John, his wife, Faraby Yelton, his sons, John Yelton, Charles Yelton, Francis Marion Yelton and William Jackson Yelton, his daughters, Sarah Ann Yelton, Unknown Yelton and Susana Yelton.9
     John Yelton died circa 1844 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. He was survived by his wife, Faraby (Constant) Yelton.10
     John Yelton died without leaving a will. Leonard Yelton was named administrator of his estate in July 1844 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. John Moorehead was Leonard's security on the administrator's bond.11 Leonard Yelton, as administrator, submitted the sale bill for John Yelton's personal property on 28 Oct 1844. A few of the more valuable items listed were a sorrel mare and colt, a bay filly, 3 head of sheep, a cow and calf, and some pigs.12 At the September Court for 1847, A. B. Long, H. Deck, and P. Whisnant were appointed a committee to settle with Leonard Yelton as administrator of John Yelton.13 The commitee met with Leonard Yelton and prepared an account, which was presented and filed at the December court in 1847.14
