The household also included his wife, Nola Yelton, age 55, his daughter, Eula M. Yelton, age 23.¹² In 1930 Edward M. Yelton was a building carpenter.¹² Edward survived the death of his wife, Nola (Faulkner) Yelton on 24 July 1935.^13,14

Edward M. Yelton died on 19 July 1947 at his daughter's home, Cincinnati, Ohio, after a long illness. Although the obituary states that he was 76 at his death, that is inconsistent with his appearance in the 1870 Census. The obituary states that Eula (Mrs. Charles Barton) was his only survivor - a manifestly false statement. Although her half-brother was raised by his maternal grandparents, Eula must surely have known of his existence.^15,16

     Otho Yelton was born on 23 August 1891 in Pendleton County, Kentucky.^3,4 He was the son of Edward M. Yelton and Flora Eunice Mullins.^1,2 Otho Yelton, age 8 was listed as the grandson of Benjamin M. Mullins, age 49 in the 1900 Census of Pendleton County, Kentucky.³ Otho M. Yelton, age 18 was listed as a grandson of Mary L. Mullins, age 57 in the 1910 Census of Pendleton County, Kentucky.⁵ In 1910 Otho Yelton was a house carpenter.⁵

Otho Yelton married Laura Stolzenburg on 24 June 1916 in Campbell County, Kentucky.^6,7

Otho Yelton, age 28 was listed as the head of a household in the 1920 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. The family included his wife, Laura Yelton, age 25, his daughter, Carmal Yelton, age 3.⁸ In 1920 Otho Yelton was a repairman at the stockyards.⁸ Otho survived the death of his wife, Laura Stolzenburg on 6 July 1928.^6,9 Shortly after Laura's death, Otho Yelton asked his in-laws to care for his two young daughters temporarily. When, a few weeks later, he attempted to retrieve the girls, their maternal relatives refused to give them up. Otho claimed that the Stolzenburgs were encouraging the girls to dislike their father. He attempted to secure custody by legal means at least twice, but apparently failed, since Carmel and May were still living with their maternal relatives in 1930.⁶

     Otho Yelton died on 23 February 1971 in Bracken County, Kentucky, at age 79. He was survived by his wife, Anna (Cooper) Yelton.^11,12

Yelton, age 39 in the 1910 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.⁵ Nola Yelton, age 47 was listed as the wife of Ed M. Yelton, age 47 in the 1920 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.⁶ Nola Yelton, age 55 was listed as the wife of Edward M. Yelton, age 55 in the 1930 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.⁷
     Nola (Faulkner) Yelton died on 24 July 1935 at her home, Erlanger, Kenton County, Kentucky, at age 62. She was survived by her husband, Edward M. Yelton.^8,9 Nola Faulkner was buried in Gardnersville, Kentucky, on 27 July 1935.⁸

     Eula May Yelton was born on 18 November 1906 in Kentucky.^1,2 She was the daughter of Edward M. Yelton and Nola Faulkner.¹ Eula M. Yelton, age 3 was listed as a daughter of Edward M. Yelton, age 39 in the 1910 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.¹ Eula May Yelton, age 13 was listed as a daughter of Ed M. Yelton, age 47 in the 1920 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.³ Eula M. Yelton, age 23 was listed as a daughter of Edward M. Yelton, age 55 in the 1930 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.⁴ In 1930 Eula May Yelton was a clerk for a coal company.⁴

Eula May Yelton died on 4 March 1979 in San Diego County, California.²
