Barnett Cash Yelton married Mary Pauline (Polly) Harmon on 31 January 1867 in Boonville, Watauga County, North Carolina. The marriage was performed by Elder Calvin Harman.

The 1900 Census states that this couple had been married for 33 years.6,7

Barnet Yelton, age 25 appeared as the head of a household in the 1870 Census of Watauga County, North Carolina. Also living in the household were Mary P. Yelton, age 27, John F. Yelton, age 2, James L. Yelton, age 1 and Mary E. Yelton, age 5 months. Barnet reported owning real estate worth $100.8

B. C. Yelton, age 37 was enumerated as the head of a household in the 1880 Census of Phelps County, Missouri. The family included his wife, Mary Yelton, age 40, his sons, Johnnie Yelton, age 13 and William Yelton, age 8, his daughters, Mary Yelton, age 11, Louisa Yelton, age 15 and Catharine Yelton, age 7.9
     Barnett Yelton, age 56 was listed as a head of household in the 1900 Census of Liberty Township Phelps County, Missouri. Also living in the house were his wife, Mary P. Yelton, age 59, his daughter, Dora Yelton, age 17. The census says that Mary is the mother of 4 children, 4 of whom are living. That makes no sense at all, considering that five children appear in the 1880 Census.7

Barnett C. Yelton, age 66 was listed as the head of a household in the 1910 Census of Liberty Township, Phelps County, Missouri. The household also included his wife, Mary P. Yelton, age 67. The columns for number of children born and surviving are blank.10

Barnett Cash Yelton died on 26 December 1914 in Phelps County, Missouri.4,11 He was buried Mill Creek Cemetery, Phelps County, Missouri.2

Yelton, age 37, in the 1880 Census of Phelps County, Missouri.5

John F. Yelton, age 51 was listed as the head of a household in the 1920 Census of Phelps County, Missouri. The family included his wife, Aetna B. Yelton, age 43, his sons, Adolph C. Yelton, age 14 and Cecil Yelton, age 12.11

John F. Yelton, age 62 was listed as the head of a household in the 1930 Census of Phelps County, Missouri. The household also included his wife, Aetna B. Yelton, age 52, his son, Dof E. Yelton, age 25. There are two young children in the household who were originally listed as "lodger" in the relationship column, although that is crossed out. I can't read what replaced it, and it may just be a scribble. The two children are:

Hazel M. Yelton, age 6, female, born in Missouri.12
