She had also served on the board of the Asheville Christian Women's Club and the Woman's Club of Asheville.
She had served as president of the PTA and the Spindale and Asheville Woman's Club, as secretary of Rutherford County Democratic Executive Committee and a Charter member of Rutherford County Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Buncombe County Democratic Women's Association.
Mrs. Yelton had been the Women's Editor at the Asheville Citizen Times for over 15 years. During that time, she had held offices in the N.C. Presswomen and won several awards from the association.³ Rose Womick died on 30 October 1997 in Asheville, North Carolina.^2,3
