Dudley A. Glenn was born on 2 October 1847 in Boone County, Kentucky.1,2 He was living in the household of Jeremiah Glinn, age 32, in the 1850 Census of Kenton County, Kentucky.3 Dudley Glenn, age 12 was living in the household of Jeremiah Glenn, age 42, in the 1860 Census of Boone County, Kentucky.4 Dudley was a student at Transylvania College in Lexington, and studied law at Lebanon Law School in Tennessee. He was admitted to the bar in 1870.5 Dudley Glenn, age 22 was living in the household of Jeremiah Glenn, age 52, in the 1870 Census of Boone County, Kentucky.6 In 1876 Dudley A. Glenn was president of the Young Men's Democratic Club in Covington. 7 Between 1877 and 1878 Dudley A. Glenn was a member of the Kentucky Legislature.8 Dudley A. Glenn, age 30 appears in the 1880 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky in the household of Benjamin F. Day, a hotel keeper. Dudley is listed again in enumeration district #115, but not in any specific household.9

Dudley A. Glenn married Lucy Mason on 22 August 1882 in South Covington, Kentucky. The wedding was reported in some detail by a Cincinnati newspaper:

A charming wedding was the social event of South Covington yesterday. A special train took out a gay company from Covington to Milldale to assist at the ceremony. The bride was Miss Lucy Mason, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mason of South Covington, and the groom Hon. Dudley Glenn, a well known and popular lawyer of Covington, who served his State in the Kentucky Legislature in the sessions of 1877 and 1878.
The day was perfect from dawn till close, and the scene at the picturesque little Episcopal chapel – Trinity – very lovely. The whole interior had been exquisitely decorated with tropical plants, and great vases of brilliant blossoms marked the chancel. The altar was a bank of lowers, and over the heads of the kneeling pair swung a marriage bell of white and rose blossoms. The decorations were arranged by Mrs. John Sears, Mrs. J. M. Sears, Miss Stella Hall, Misses Mary and Annabelle Donogh, Miss Thorpe, and Miss Roe. The ushers were Messrs. E. R. Bryson and Mr. E. C. Kruse, of Cincinnati. The bride, wearing a charming gown of white satin and nun’s veiling, and diamond ornaments, the groom’s gift, entered on the arm of her father, preceded by her attendant, Miss Stella Hall, and the best man, Mr. S. A. Kidd. Miss Hall wore nun’s veiling, with relief of Spanish lace, and her pronounced brunette type was in charming contrast to the blonde loveliness of the bride. The organ was brilliantly played by Miss Kercheval – the triumphant strains of the Wedding March in Lohengrin, “Hail to the bride! Long may she live!” finding a ready echo in the hearts of the friends met to do honor to her bridal. The ceremony was performed by Rev. S. W. Young, of Trinity Church. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn are at present at the Grand Hotel, and leave to-day for journey to Niagara and the lakes.
Among the many presents were: Epergne from Miss Stella Hall, silver pie knife from S. A. Kidd, a pair of ornaments from Messrs. Kruse and Bryson, silver singing pitcher, goblet, and butter dish from Messrs. Ringgold and Elliott, handsome sofa cushion from Miss Annabel Donogh, card receiver from O. J. Wiggins, pair of silver napkin rings from Anna and May Donogh, silver water pitcher from Mr. Ambrose Park, handsome celluloid dressing set from Mr. Lewis Jenkins, hand painted pin cushion and perfume bottles from Miss Jennie Thorpe.
Among the friends present were Mr. A. C. Ellis and family, Mr. Joseph Whitehouse and family, Mr. J. S. Williams and family, Mr. R. F. Caldwell and family, Mr. J. C. Yorston and family, Judge O’Hara, Mr. J. W. Brien, Mr. S. P. Tucker, Miss Hattie Yorston, of Detroit; Mr. Tom Mason and wife, Mrs. John Kay, Mr. and Mrs. J. Megrune, and many others.10,11,8 In 1900 Dudley A. Glenn was an attorney.12 He was enumerated as the head of a household in the 1900 Census of Latonia, Kenton County, Kentucky. Other family members included his wife, Lucy A. Gleen, age 39, his sons, George D. Gleen, age 7 and Edwin M. Gleen, age 5, his daughters, Mabel Gleen, age 16, Olivia M. Gleen, age 15, Lucy Gleen, age 13 and Elisabeth Gleen, age 1. Lucy has borne 8 children, 6 of whom are living.12 Dudley Glenn, age 62 was listed as the head of a household in the 1910 Census of Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. The household also included his wife, Lucy M. Glenn, age 49, his sons, Dudley Glenn, age 18 and Edward Glenn, age 15, his daughters, Olivia Glenn, age 25, Lucy Glenn, age 23, Bessie Glenn, age 11 and Helen Glenn, age 9.
