BADIN — Mary Louise “Fed” Howell Staton, 80, 211 Spruce St., died Monday (June 19, 2000) at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Born Sept. 27, 1919, in Stanly County, Mrs. Staton was a daughter of the late James Coy and Ida Mae Crowell Howell. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Badin and the Kittie Sue Parrish Bible Class.

Her husband, Raeford Clarence Staton, died Feb. 5, 1988.

Survivors include sons Robert M. Yelton, Lake Norman, Teddy Starnes, New London, and David Staton, Albemarle; daughter Barbara A. Staton, Albemarle; sister Vivian H. Furr, Fitzgerald, Ga; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Wray. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
