Yelton, age 33, in the 1880 Census of Pendleton County, Kentucky.2 Elmer Yelton, age 21 appears in the 1900 Census of Pendleton County, Kentucky in the household of Henry Bonar.4 Despite the statement in his obituary that he was a lifelong resident of Pendleton County, Kentucky, he appears in the 1910 and 1920 Censuses for Dearborn County, Indiana. In the 1910 Census, he is living in a household immediately adjacent to that of his first cousin, Minnie (Bonar) Wallace.5,6 In 1918 Francis Elmer Yelton was a laborer on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad.3 Francis registered for the World War I draft on 12 September 1918 in Kenton County, Kentucky. He named his sister, Hattie Huff, as his nearest relative.3
He had no children and apparently never married..7

Francis Elmer Yelton died on 29 December 1963 in Pendleton County, Kentucky.8
