I work as a technician at KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas. I attended public school in Fort Smith, Arkansas; Westark Community College in Fort Smith; and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. My wife teaches high school math. The Bible shows us the way to God and heaven. Jesus said this about himself in John 14:6;
..." I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. "
Even though there is only one way to God and heaven, it is not difficult. God wants you to find the way. The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9 that
" The Lord is not ... willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. "
If you want to go somewhere, you have to start going in the right direction, or you will never get there. You can start on your way to heaven right now by accepting God's gift of salvation.
Admit that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 and 1 John 1:8 says that everyone is a sinner.
Believe that Jesus Christ can and will take away your sin. John 1:12
" ...as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name "
" For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "
" For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. "
Confess 1 John 1:9
" If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. "
Would you like to start on the way now? If so, pray this prayer.
Dear God, I have sinned. Please forgive me. I accept your gift of everlasting life in heaven with you.
Do you think that is too simple? Why not try it?
Do you want to clean up your act before coming to God? Sorry, but that does not compute. There is nothing you can do to get rid of your sin except letting God do it. Do you refuse to wash your clothes because they are too dirty? Hopefully not. Then let God wash away your sins.
