4/01/1887 Died, Sunday, March 27, at 5 a.m., at her home near Rock Creek, Aunt Melinda BAYLES, aged 72 years. She had been in very poor health for some time, but was suddenly taken worse, and at dawn the following day she quietly passed away. Aunt Malinda was born in Hamilton County, Ohio and in 1831 was married to Daniel BAYLES. Of a large family of fifteen children three have already passed away. At the funeral services on Tuesday appropriate remarks were made by Isaac C. Baker, after which the remains were laid to rest in Rock Creek Cemetery. The funeral sermon will be preached at the Rock Christian church on the second Sunday in April at 11 am by Rev. Davis of Latham. For more than forty years Aunt Melinda was a member of the Baptist church, and was loved and respected by all. A word of consolation to the bereaved ones may be expressed in the three words, "Meet her there".
