A GARRISON Mystery

Who is buried here? Can you Help?

Note: The pictures below were originally submitted by Bob Phelps. Bob's email address no longer works so we cannot contact him however another GARRISON researcher (listed as contact below) is very interested in the grave. Here's what she wrote:

"Just came across the web page, that mentions a Garrison/Garson burial in "Earath County, TX", should be Erath County [now corrected]. This may help solve your mystery, may not. I can give you some information from my relatives who lived there. You can take it from there, or decide if it is applicable. It cannot be my John Hardin GARRETSON as he lived there, married there and died in OK. It could be a sibling of his; the name is uncommon. I do know my John Hardin GARRETSON b. 25 Feb 1821 Sumner co, TN. married Margaret Mahulda MONTGOMERY 12-20-1883 in Erath County, TX. She was his second wife. His first wife was Louisa Jane McDANIEL. They had 9 children, one of which could have been the unnamed person. I do not know much about the children of this marriage, (I do have some names but that is all), I am related through the MONTGOMERY side. John Hardin GARRETSON was the son of Mason GARRETSON and Elizabeth Jane HARDIN. They were both born in the 1870's, I do not know places of burials. I do hope this has given you some information you may not have had, and if it proves to be related to my GARRETSONS, I would love to know about it." 11 Jul. 2009
