Anderson is about 8 miles from Redding and and about 8 miles from Tehama Co. Line. Cottonwood is also in Shasta Co. the cemetery is about 2 miles from the Tehama Countyline. Part of Cottonwood is now Tehama Co.Anderson is about 10,000 pop and Cottonwood is about 6,000

Capt. French's Company to California "The New Orleans Daily Picayune, on May 26, 1850 and again on June 2, 1850, lists "Capt. French's Company." They left New York on the SS Georgia, boarded the SS Falcon in Havana (for New Orleans), and boarded the SS Galveston in New Orleans bound for El Paso, TX, via Indianola and San Antonio.
