Kaylor in Pike County, Illinois Death Records

Mary Ann Kaylor shared the following information on the Kaler mail list in April 1999. Below you will find information for George Kaylor and David Kaylor, both born in Maryland. She indicated that she has a family sheet for the DAVID and MARY BROWNING KAYLOR listed below. David is believed to be the son of JOHN KAYLOR and CATHERINE HAINES, but that has not documented.

At the end there are also several other Kaylor death records listed from Mary Ann's email. However, there is no connection to Maryland listed.

PIKE COUNTY IL DEMOCRAT, December 1902:

Died, at his residence seven miles southwest of Perry, Wednesday, December
3, of apoplexy, GEORGE KAYLOR.  He was born in Maryland in 1812 and was the
father of sixteen children, thirteen of whom are still living.  The funeral
was held at Asbury church, Friday, after which the remains were interred at
Hinman Chapel.

PIKE COUNTY DEMOCRAT, April 29, 1886:

OBITUARY:

Died, April 16th, 1886, at his home four miles south of Baylis, Mr. DAVID
KAYLOR, in the 62nd year of his age.  The subject of this sketch was born
in Alleghany county, Maryland, May 24, 1824.  He immigrated with his
parents to Ross County, OH in 1831, thence to Pike County, Ill., in 1846,
where he resided until his death.   He was married in 1852  to MARY E. BROWNING.  
They have had born to them nine children, eight of whom are yet living.

Mr. Kaylor has been a member of the M. E. Church since 1853.  On the 17th
his remains were taken to Baylis, followed by a large procession of friends
and relatives, and, after an able and appropriate funeral address by Rev.
Young, from 2nd Cor. 51:18, were interred in the cemetery at that place.
In the death of Mr. Kaylor, his surviving wife and children have lost a
patient husband and a kind indulgent father, and the community an upright
and honorable citizen.
